God’s Grace

God’s grace is truly amazing!  By grace, God pardons our past, empowers our present and frees our future.  Grace could be defined as “The undeserved favor and kindness of God, resulting in the joyful reception of a full pardon from sin, and His empowering presence; enabling me to be everything that He created me to be, and empowering me to do everything that He called me to do.” 

Some focus on the mercy side of grace which is the pardon, others focus on the empowerment side of grace.  The Bible clearly shows that grace includes both pardon for your past and power for you future.  Romans 3:24 says “being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” This verse clearly stated that it is not by, “works,” or “keeping the law.”  If our relationship is based on our performance, we are all in trouble. 

However, God’s grace does include the power to live a victorious life.  Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under the law but under grace.”  Grace is a gift that we can never earn, yet it would be accurate to say, “GRACE WORKS!”
